On the threshold of the great south rises the majestic Ouarzazate, a striking mixture of oases, kasbahs and flourishing valleys. In a vast desert plateau that attracts tourists of different nationalities. In the shade of its palm trees, the city of Ouarzazate has settled, leaving behind a rocky vastness swept by all the winds of the Sahara. History of the Ouarzazate city :

The region of Ouarzazate, which has always attracted the attention of many historians, is still an enigma for them, however some archaeological research carried out has proved the existence of various civilizations that would have lived in this region; these same studies have also proved a very ancient human occupation: there were found rock engravings testifying prehistoric times.

The region of Ouarzazate seems to have been the point of commercial meetings with several countries of the North and South of the continent, Also other economic interests, looking for gold and other metals, would have determined the establishment of merchants of different nationalities and religions in this part of the
 country formation of small Jewish kingdoms
 which favored its expansion at a certain time.



Geography & climate of the Ouarzazate city :

The province of Ouarzazate is located in the south-east of Morocco, belonging to a pre-Saharan region, it delimited by:
  • North by the province of Haouz and Azilal.
  • In the East by the province of ERRACHIDIA.
  • To the West by the province of Tata.
  • South by the province of Zagora.
Ouarzazate enjoys an arid climate with an annual rainfall of only 112mm. Rainfall is low and irregular or even zero in summer. In winter the temperatures are cool at night while in summer the heat is torrid during the day. The vegetation cover is very sparse and agriculture is possible only through the use of water Oued Draâ to irrigate the arable land.

         How to get there ?

With its international airport, Ouarzazate is served at the international level unfortunately for few direct flights; especially from Paris in France, otherwise, the city is served daily from the city of Casablanca in Morocco. The airport is 2km from the city center, you can take a taxi or request a transfer to your incoming agency or pick up your rental car on site.

 Where to stay?

At the Accommodation level, Ouarzazate has an important hotel capacity with its classified hotels from 1 to 5 stars, its guest houses, residences appart hotels and its holiday clubs.

 Local Gastronomy?

At the level of gastronomy Ouarzazate, as any Moroccan city will enchant you with very rich and varied dishes, you will be able to taste a Berber couscous, a tajine with the olives, a tajine of fish or even other dishes based on argan oil, olive oil or amlou.
